Final Design Perforation Pattern
The new pattern is composed of either single or double arching window frames much like Spanish Revival style frames. Inside of these frames are alternation perforations that are different spacing and sizes.This gives a modern adjustment to an old style that blends both the Spanish and Islamic styles together in a contemporary way.
Precedents
The other perforations at the stairwells on the park side of the mosque were inspired by the 8 pointed star, one is a series of patterns each making up the star, while the other is one large star made up of distinct linear elements that run along the face of the facade.
